PHOTONIS is a leading multinational high-technology group, with experience in manufacture, sales and innovation specializing in photo sensor imaging technologies since 1937. PHOTONIS operate internationally in the Night Vision, Industrial, Scientific and Medical markets.

PHOTONIS is a global manufacturer of electro-optic components used in the detection of ions, electrons and photons. PHOTONIS innovate and engineer quality components for integration into a variety of applications such as night vision optics, digital cameras, mass spectrometry, physics research, space exploration and many others.

PHOTONIS design and manufacture in four state of the art facilities across the globe and work with our customers to continually bring improvements and innovation to our products.

PHOTONIS IS the most widely deployed night vision tube globally, lead the mass spectrometer detector market, and have products installed in most space telescopes and high energy physics experiments in laboratories around the world.

Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM), CAS, founded in 1962, is one of the largest institutes of CAS in Northwest region. After 50 years’ innovation process, XIOPM has developed into a comprehensive scientific research base with strategic high-tech innovation and basic research for application as the main tasks.

The research areas of XIOPM mainly focus on basic optics, space optics and optoelectronic engineering, and the main research interests include transient optics and photonics theory and technology, high resolution optical space information acquisition and optical remote sensing technology, interference spectral imaging theory and technology, high-speed optical information acquisition and processing technology.

There is one state key laboratory and two CAS key laboratories. They are respectively State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Photonics, CAS Key Laboratory of Ultrafast Diagnostics, and CAS Key Laboratory of Spectral Imaging Technology. In addition, there is a complete supporting system for technologies, including laboratory of space optics application research and other research laboratories, testing center and system engineering group.
